Hello Mountain Minis friends and fans,
We are so grateful to all of you for a wonderful first year in business. I'd like to take a moment to reflect on our journey.
Mountain Minis started on the campus of CU Boulder. A few prints here and there to gauge interest led to a fulfilling full time job and honorable small business.
We were skeptical at the potential of Mountain Minis. Our first craft show on April 20th, 2024 was tolerable at best. With cold wind, on and off snow, and a small turnout, we were worried the investment would not be worth it in the long term.
We learned a lot about the 3D printing process. With so much trial and error to get things not only right, but as perfect as possible, took a ton of time. I designed my first piece which was too complex for my skills at the time and had outsourced the design process to a talented designer. My first piece, the Dark Souls Sun Tray, was born.
My skills in Blender were certainly abysmal at first. With no real training, I sought to learn the tools a bit at a time. Although it's not nearly the most desired program for 3D printing, it is my program of choice as it connects closely to my future career aspirations. Here is my first ever experiment.
Our last show of 2024, the Christmas in the Rockies event at Aspen Grove, showcases how far we've come!
We also want to congratulate our winners of the Christmas Raffle from the Denver Christmas Show! They won a Mountain Minis Colossal Cherry Blossom Dragon which became a stunning featured item on their fireplace mantle.
We have learned a lot in our first year of business and will continue to strive for high-quality printing, painting, and art in all forms! We'd also like to take the time to announce that Mountain Minis is now available to follow on Facebook and Instagram! Follow us for updates, events, and sales!
Our office, located in Arvada, CO, is still being worked on. We hope to bring you an update in the coming months on our store's grand opening.
